The Town of Mineral is proud to announce the completion of our LOVEworks sign. Town Councilwoman Bernice Kube has been working in collaboration with Harris Company Inc. owner Dick Harris to complete the LOVEworks sign for the past couple of months. It has been a goal of the Town Council to bring more people to the park and the addition of the LOVEworks sign is already working towards advancing that goal.
In a collaboration with Virginia.org – the towns in the state of Virginia have sought to prove that Love is at the Heart of every Virginia destination. The LOVEworks program is a statewide branding initiative designed to promote vacation experienced and destinations in Virginia. The LOVEwork in Mineral is the 56th LOVE sign in Virginia!
The LOVEwork in Mineral represents the mining heritage of the Town. The L is a pic and shovel representing the tools used for mining during that era. The O is a wagon wheel and the V is train tracks. Both modes of transportation during the mining era. The E are rocks representing the many types of minerals that were mined. Including but not limited to gold, sulfur and copper.
Visitors are encouraged to take photos with the LOVEwork and share with loved ones on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/VirginiaisforLovers on on Twitter with the special hashtag #LOVEVA. A complete list of the LOVEwork locations is at www.Virginia.org/LOVE
